Following the promptings of the Holy Ghost

Sister Jane Lassetter, Department of Nursing

I am a Child of God
Lead me, Guide me, Walk beside me,
Help me find the way.

Be thou humble, and the Lord thy God shall lead thee
by the hand, and give the answers to thy prayers.
Doctrine & Covenants 112:10

The Holy Ghost does not overlook, but we can't hear him if we don't listen.

How important it is to look up when we are in need of help.

Angels seen and unseen help us through our most difficult trials.

If it matters to us it matters to Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost.
They care about the details of our lives.

As we strive to be more in tune with the Spirit we can different between promptings and emotional impulses.

Everyone hears the Holy ghost differently.

The promptings we receive from the Holy Ghost are still and small so we must be still and calm in order to hear. We need to avoid contention and anger so we can be calm and ready to act on promptings.

We need to find times and places where we can be still and quiet:
prayer, scripture study, visit the temple (for the presence of the Lord is there)
and sacrament (to have his spirit to be with us).

As we try to improve we will gain more sensitivity of the Holy Ghost.

I was led by the spirit, not knowing beforehand the things that I should do. Nevertheless, I went forth...
1 Nephi 4:6-7
Lead thou me on,
one step enough for me

We are spiritual beings having a mortal experience.

They know and love each one of us and are intimately acquainted with the trials we face.
